| In high school and college, he played lead tenor in the jazz bands, and won many outstanding solo awards at local and state competitions |
| Studied jazz improvisation with Floyd Standifer, Don Lanphere, Jay Thomas |
| At age 19 Paul was in a commercial for mini-series 'Roots' with local jazz trumpeter Floyd Standifer |
| After college, Paul spent one year on the road with Carnival playing the west coast, east coast, midwest and Alaska |
| Paul has played with many local acts from 1979-2001 including
